Hastings Racecourse is currently seeking an energetic, guest focused and dedicated individual interested in furthering their career within the Security and Gaming industry, being a part of the horseracing/gaming industry as well as creating great memories for our guests. At this time, we are accepting applications for a Security Supervisor.
Position Summary: Under the direction of our Manager, Security, our next Security Supervisor is responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities of security operations while establishing and contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees. Our next all-star Security Supervisor will ensure adherence to all policies and procedures, will motivate and leads by example and assists in providing a learning environment. In addition, our Security Supervisor will provide input on performance evaluations and will assist with the implementation all new security operations initiatives.
Our next Security Supervisor will be responsible for the following exciting duties:
Provides input for employee performance objectives and evaluations
Mentors, coaches and trains front line security staff, including best practices for the non-gaming record keeping system
Monitors, documents and reports internal and external violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons and activities of the entire property as directed; prepares electronic statements via a non-gaming record keeping system
Enrolls guests into the Self-Exclusion Program
Provides or assists with First Aid for employees and guests
Responds to, resolves or escalates security issues
Oversees crowd control for special events
Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Our next superstar Security Supervisor will demonstrate the following qualifications:
High School Diploma
Serving It Right or the ability to obtain there Serving It Right certificate
Must be willing to undergo a criminal record and credit check as set out by the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch
Must successfully complete GSO training within the first 3 months of employment.
Advanced Security Training (AST) an asset
Occupational First Aid level 2 Certificate an asset
Fluency in other languages an asset
Must be willing to recertify every 3 years for Use of Force Certification and OFA Level 2
Computer literacy in MS Office
