Job Description

The Assistant Security Manager is responsible for the safeguarding of hotel property, assets, guests, visitors, and associates. Give direction to security officers as needed on specific shifts.

Specific Requirements
• High school or equivalent education is required; Bachelor’s Degree in related area is preferred but not mandatory
• Minimum three years related experience the hospitality sector and similar property is preferred
• Previous Starwood experience is preferred
• Fluency in Arabic is desirable
• Display of comprehensive computer skills
• Ability to take a customer focused decision independently, whilst remaining cognizant of all management principles
• Great organizational and problem solving skills with emphasis on “people management"
• Ability to train, motivate, evaluate, mentor and direct associates
• Continuously suggest new concepts and improve existing processes that will benefit revenues, costs and guests’ and associates’ satisfaction
• Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure
• Effective negotiation and analytical skills, detail oriented and customer oriented approach
• Physically fit for performing tasks outdoors and standing for long hours
• Recognized First Aid and/ Fire Fighting certificates
• Well trained and skilled on the usage of all related equipment like CCTV, X-ray Machine, Walk thru gate etc.
• Must be well acquainted with the emergency procedures i.e. fire, bomb threat, medical and power/elevator failure
• Must be stand by for round the clock operation
• Experience in office procedures, ordering materials, record keeping, investigation and reports
• Knowledge and implementation of laws relating to, liquor liability, local health and sanitation standards
• Ability to assess quality control and adherence to service standards
• Responds appropriately to guests’ needs during hours of operation
• Knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, health & safety aspects
