About the role
Purpose
Under the general guidance and supervision of the Director of Security within the limits of Burj Al Arab policies and procedures, is responsible for fire, life and safety and security of colleagues, guests and the property
Main Duties
  • Is responsible for reporting any incidents or issues that can affect fire, life and safety, or security of guests, colleagues and company property
  • Is familiar with all procedures related to fire prevention and evacuation
  • Is responsible for the security control room and in avoiding the entrance of unauthorized personnel into the control room
  • Whilst on duty at the central security control room, is responsible for the monitoring of the C.C.T.V. system, fire alarm panel, panic alarm system, emergency telephone, elevator control monitor, emergency lighting control monitor, maintenance of files, key register, issue and safe custody of keys and cleanliness of the security control room. He will be also responsible for acknowledging the fire signal location.
  • Whilst on duty at the checkpoint, is responsible for issuing of contractors/visitors passes not allowing unauthorized persons to enter the hotel and carry out random colleague checks to prevent hotel property being removed without a proper "Property Removal Form". He/She will be also responsible for issuing the keys for colleagues and the maintenance of its records.
  • Whilst on duty at the lobby, he/she is responsible for controlling access to the main guest lifts, preventing unauthorized visitors going to the rooms and interaction with the guest's requirements.
  • Whilst on duty at the main entrance, is responsible for controlling the traffic movements, and to prevent the people parking their cars at the main entrance for an extended period of time.
  • Whilst on duty, will check, note and report discrepancies of fire fighting equipment, water leaks, and any other health and safety issues. Any maintenance requirements are then passed over the technical services, who are responsible for the maintenance of the fire fighting equipment.
  • Is familiar with all procedures related to fire prevention and evacuation and to ensure prompt decision making with regards to the safety and security of guests and colleagues
  • Performs all duties common to security officers and any other tasks as stipulated by his/her Director of Security
Administrational
  • Submits daily reports through the security log report to the Director of Security.
  • Is responsible for found Property deposited with Security and for it's safekeeping
 Operational
  • Is member of Emergency Response Team (ERT)

Qualification
  • Higher Secondary Education
Experience
  • Minimum of 6 months security experience in a customer related service oriented role.
Skills
Essential
  • Proven knowledge in Fire & Safety
  • Computer skills
  • Familiar with CCTV Operations
  • Basic working knowledge of the law
