Munitions/Weapons Technician - OCONUS

Position Summary:
Performs organizational level servicing, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Conducts weapons loading, storage and transport. Repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines. Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, landing gear, fuel systems and mechanical components. Working knowledge of UAS unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, and other special tools and equipment. Uses and interprets technical orders
(TO’s) and technical data to apply technical knowledge to identify, troubleshoot, and diagnose moderate to complex maintenance problems and determine appropriate corrective action.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform Munitions Inspector duties, to include, but not limited to weapons transportation, inventory, storage, and inspection. 
  • Technically capable to update the USAF Combat Ammunition System (CAS).
  • Services and inspects aircraft, components, and related aerospace equipment.
  • Removes and installs UAS components and conducts functional and operational tests.
  • Performs launch, recovery, end-of-runway, post- flight, pre-flight, thru-flight and periodic inspections.
  • Adjusts, aligns and rigs UAS flight controls and other components.
  • Performs aircraft jacking, lifting, towing, and manual movement.
  • Inspects and checks components for clearances, tolerances, proper installation and operation.
  • Operates and inspects powered and non-powered aerospace ground equipment.
  • Performs structural repair, inspects and identifies corrosion for prevention and repair.
  • Reviews and completes UAS maintenance forms entries and enters data into the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS), responsible to ensure all data is accurate and complete.
  • Responsible to maintain and inventory aircraft alternate mission equipment.
  • Performs aircraft weight and balance procedures.
  • Performs aircraft launch and recovery.
  • Performs crash recovery responsibilities with direct supervision.
  • Submits material and product deficiency reports.
  • Occasionally required to lead teams through more complex maintenance tasks.
  • Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules.
  • Responsible to maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • May be required to meet typical Cross Utilization Training (CUT) qualifications to include Aircraft Launch and Recovery, Aircraft Inspections, Aircraft Servicing, Aircraft Fuel/De-Fuel, Aircraft Movement/Towing.Current Secret Security Clearance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

At least six (6) years' experience in USAF ordnance/munitions career fields, and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a munitions inspector. Two (2) years of leadership and management experience. Current or previous 2W051, 2W071 or 2W091 Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC). Equivalent experience to USAF 7-Skill Level

Completed USAF Munitions Inspector training and certification and documented in accordance with the USAF Qualification Training Package (AFQTP).

Two years’ experience as a munitions inspector is waived for personnel with four or more years of munitions maintenance or inspection experience and holding the 2W0 AFSC upon separation.

USAF Special Experience Identifier 836 is preferred. Airframe and Power Plant License preferred.

Current Secret Security Clearance. US Citizen or proper immigration status.

Must be willing to travel overseas for extended periods of time as required by the company. Must meet company fitness for duty requirements.
