Description
BASF’s regional headquarters is located in Hong Kong, overseeing more than 16,000 employees at about 100 sites across Asia Pacific. BASF’s Hong Kong office also houses regional functional units including Corporate Affairs, Finance & Controlling, Human Resources, Legal, Insurance & Real Estate, Operational Excellence, Procurement, Strategy & Investment Support, and Supply Chain Services. Objectives of the Position
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Security and Crisis Management Asia Pacific, the objectives of the incumbent are as follows:
Lead investigations into internal compliance issues and external threats against the company, its assets, people or intellectual property in the Asia Pacific region
Promote BASF’s initiatives on non-IT related information protection in the Asia Pacific region
Act as the BASF Hong Kong Safety Officer to ensure a safe working environment

Job Responsibilities
Investigations
Analyze allegations, identify an investigation strategy, gather and analyze information, interview witnesses and suspects
Liaise with Regional Legal and Regional Audit departments and provide comprehensive reports of findings for senior management or external authorities, to enable appropriate closure actions
Information Protection
Contribute to and promote global activities in the Asia Pacific region in relation to the protection of non-IT information by providing presentations to staff and training the Information Protection Officers in countries, business and functional units to fulfil a similar role
Safety Officer
Ensure a safe working environment in the BASF offices in Hong Kong and compliance with local laws and regulations via maintenance of the office safety and security organization, organizing first aid training through an external provider to ensure sufficient first aiders are available, leading annual Safety Week programs and collecting accident statistics

Requirements
Holder of bachelor’s degree
10 years or above experience in law enforcement or other disciplinary service in an investigative role, including 3 years of relevant experience in a multinational corporate environment
Sound and proven knowledge of investigation and interviewing techniques
Ability to analyze complex situations and identify solutions
Strong communication skills with the ability to conduct clear presentation and training to a diverse group of audience
Excellent command in written and spoken English
A working knowledge of Mandarin would be an advantage
Willingness to travel within the region at short notice. Approximately 20% travel anticipated
