Chief, Internal Security School Section

Job description

Responsible for managing and administering continuous and dedicated assistance to the Internal Security School (ISS), National Guard Military Schools (NGMS) in developing Military Police and Intelligence Programs of Instruction (POIs). Directly responsible to the Manger, Training Doctrine Branch (TDB) for coordinating all assistance related to training, integration of modernized equipment, simulators, and simulations.


Duties/responsibilities:

Observe,assess, and provide after action reviews (AARs) assessments and training recommendations in support of ISS wings to the ISS Commader and OPM.
Train and assist the ISS in the planning ofinternal training and professional development for its staff and instructors.
Provide assistance to the ISS in the review of all POIs and make recommended changes.
Coordiante the integration of modernized equipment, simulators and simulations, to include command and control simulations, into ISS curricula.
Train and assist instructors in the planning, preparation and presentation of POIs to include theutilizaton of training devices.
Manages the planning functions of the section for effective resources utilization and timely accomplishment of assigned goals and objectives.
Accomplishes other management responsibilities of the section, as required.

Independence: Acts under the general overview of the Manager, TDB operating within broad objectives and with independent choice of methods.


Supervisory Responsibilities: One (1)Chief Interpreter/Translator.

Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree preferred; an equivalent combination of college level courses, military training and job site experience may be substituted. Graduate of Advanced Officer or Senior Leader Course. Command and General Staff College graduate desirable.


Experience: Former U.S. Military commissioned or senior non-commissioned officer with at least six (6) years experience in U.S. military training/training development at battalion level or higher. Battalion/Brigade S-2, S-3 experience in a light infantry battalion and/or Ranger battalion or Military Police experience in stability and support oprations is desirable.


Specific knowledge, skill, ability, requirements: Must have knowledge and work expereince with U.S. Army logistics, force development, resource management, doctrine and/or curriculum development procedures,combined army and peace/stability operations is desirable. Must have working knowledge of the U.S. Military Systems Approach to Training including instructional techniques and procedures. Professional training experiencein a multi-cultural environment ispreferred. Proficient in MS Office Professional software required.
