Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan on the

EAGLE contract for a

Small Arms Technician . The Technician disassembles and examines parts and assemblies and reassembles and adjusts components.Determines serviceability of weapons and parts. Diagnoses and determines remedies for failures commonly encountered in the repair of small arms using a variety of diagnostic techniques and TMDE with little or no supervision.Assists with Inventories. Enters and updates computerized information. Safely uses common hand tools and shop equipment effectively without assistance.May instruct other employees in proper repair maintenance procedures. Required to conduct and receive cross training as directed.Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRST Safety Policies and Procedures. Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries.Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the AC FIRST Quality Management System. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements


High School diploma or equivalent required.


Accredited Armament repair training required. Secret Security Clearance, is required


Active Secret / Tier 3


Attends classified meetings and requires SIPR and CENTRIX access to classified information necessary to support the USG and documents related to future missions and strategies.


2-3 years’ experience in small arms repair required.


US Arm y MOS 45K, USMC 2111 or civilian equivalent required Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience. Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college and vice versa. Specialized knowledge and skills:


Must be able to pass SASC PQS training course within 30 days of hire. Driver’s license may be required.

Preferred Qualifications
Military experience preferred.
